Download and Use TransLoc

DOWNLOAD TRANSLOC  Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android). Search for “TransLoc.” Look for this dark blue-gray icon with the white bus, then install the app.

OPEN THE APP + ALLOW LOCATION  Open TransLoc. If your phone asks for location access, choose “Allow While Using App.” Location access helps the app show nearby transit service.

SELECT THE CORRECT AGENCY  Choose “Starkville-MSU Area Rapid Transit.” If you do not see it, open the app settings/agency preferences and make sure the Starkville-MSU agency is selected or visible.

VIEW YOUR ROUTE  Open the area of the app that lists available routes. Select the S.M.A.R.T. route you need to see its path and stops. Do not rely on a screenshot or old route list—use the current information shown in TransLoc.

SELECT YOUR STOP  Choose the stop where you plan to board. The app can show scheduled and, when available, estimated arrival information for that stop.

TRACK THE BUS  When real-time vehicle tracking is available, the bus location will appear on the map. Use it as a helpful estimate—not as a guarantee that the bus is exactly where the icon appears.

IMPORTANT: Live tracking has a slight lag while location data is transmitted. The actual bus may be a little farther along the route than the map shows.

SAVE FAVORITES + USE ALERTS  For stops you use often, save/favorite them for quicker access. TransLoc also supports notifications and service alerts where available.

CHECK BEFORE YOU WALK OUT  Open TransLoc before heading to the stop. Confirm the route is operating, check the latest arrival information, and give yourself enough time to reach the stop before the bus arrives.

NOT SEEING WHAT YOU EXPECT?

• Make sure Location Services are on.
• Confirm the Starkville-MSU agency is selected.
• Make sure you have Wi-Fi or cellular data.
• Close and reopen the app if information is not loading.
